Legislator and businessman launches bid to lower cost of living, make homeownership attainable, and deliver a new generation of leadership for a changing economy.
CALIFORNIA - Today, Ian Calderon announced that he is running for Governor of California. His candidacy centers on lowering the cost of living, making homeownership actually attainable for working-class families, and delivering a new generation of leadership prepared to navigate California’s future in an era defined by technological change.
“California is the most dynamic state in the country, but for too many people, the cost of living makes it harder and harder to build a stable future here,” said Ian. “I’m running for Governor because families deserve relief, small businesses deserve room to grow, and because homeownership should be a reality again for Californians.”
His priorities include lowering the cost of gas, groceries, and childcare; ensuring paychecks keep up with rising expenses; and tackling inflation to deliver relief to families. He will also work to make homeownership attainable for working-class families by cracking down on Wall Street and foreign investors who buy up neighborhoods, while protecting local ownership and expanding affordable housing options.
As Governor, Ian plans to leverage today’s tools and technology to solve California’s problems, cut through political extremes, and listen, adapt, and act in real time. A proud Democrat with an independent voice, Ian has already delivered for Californians, leading the effort on the California Film Tax Credit, authoring legislation to establish the California Blockchain Working Group, and securing funding to reopen courthouses, expand access to justice, and invest in community parks.
“It is time to bring common sense back to California. That starts by putting working families and small businesses ahead of both political extremes and the special interests that profit by dividing us.”
